What’s the difference between the clubs?
The Rotary Club of Avon is the OG. The original. It was launched in 1988, and was the first club in Hendricks County to allow women to join.
• Meets 7-8 am Tuesday mornings.
• Members are invited to meet again after the meeting at Big Apple Bagels for Bagels and Coffee and fellowship.
The Satellite Lunch Club was launched July 8, 2026 upon the understanding that an additional meeting time would be beneficial.
• Gathers Wednesdays at 11:30 – 12:00 for lunch. We rotate restaurants to share a variety of cultures and menus.
• The meeting itself runs from 12-1pm
What’s a Satellite Club?
Satellite clubs are sponsored by a local club, in our case, the Rotary Club of Avon is the sponsor of the Avon Rotary Lunch Club. The satellite club give community members and Rotarians the chance to make a positive difference in a club environment that often differs from the sponsor club. The parent club provides advice and support.
- Officially, satellite members are members of the sponsor club
- The satellite club develops its own service projects and focus
- Satellite clubs hold reguluar meetings, have their own bylaws, and their own board
- In our case, it’s built for people whose schedules don’t fit a 7 AM meeting
Same Rotary. Same charter. A new direction to grow into.
What about Dues?
When your membership is approved, you will be provided with an invoice for dues. The Rotary year runs July 1 – June 30.
Dues are $250/year. What does that cover? Per person, this is how your dues break down:
